How could it have been a year already?

You're always in my thoughts.  It's so hard, still, to even try and grasp the enormity of it all.  I keep waiting for a stupid text or a visit.  I miss you, and my birthday won't be the same without you here to celebrate yours with me.  Thinking of you, especially today.  I love you so much.

I'm so, so sorry. For you and for your brother, who was so young, and your family. I can only imagine how hard this must have hit you.

I wish you strength in these days and the love of close friends that can help us through hard times. Have hugs and best wishes from me, and all the sympathy I can give.

Thank you. It was beyond hard. Long story short, he had a rollover accident driving from his house, where he lived with friends, to my mother's about 10 miles away where he had intended to stay the night. It was late out and the worst blizzard of the year. He never should have been out. He left his phone at home (which is a shock, he even took the damn thing to the bathroom with him). When he had his accident, he had to have rung his bell pretty good because he didn't even grab his coat from the backseat and got out of his car and started walking. He only had on a T-shirt and no socks in a foot and a half of snow and a whiteout you couldn't see shit through. He was missing until the 24th when they found him. He had made it almost a mile thru the fields and climbed an 8 ft barbed wire fence to get inside an oil refinery, but died of hypothermia before he made it to the buildings that were in sight. Open. Heated. With working phones.

It's just been so super, stupidly hard...especially now. His birthday was the 18th and mine is the 13th of this month, so we always celebrated together even if we didn't always do much for christmas together. Y_Y

I hardly know what to say. I'm so very sorry for your tragic loss, and can only hope that time does what people always promise it does; heal, and leave you with only the good memories.

Ah, I don't really expect anyone to say anything at all... just needed to...I don't know, say something. Its been the only thing on my mind the past few days. And of course I remember mostly only the good... lol, he could be a jerk sometimes but he was my brother. Siblings don't always see eye to eye. Its expected.
